WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Paul E. Kanjorski (PA-11) voted in favor of H.R. 3082, the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act which passed in the House by a vote of 415-3. The legislation provides critical funding for veterans health services and the construction of key facilities for training and housing our military, including $9.8 million for the Army Reserve Center in the Hanover Industrial Park. "This legislation provides needed funding for many military construction projects throughout the country including at the Army Reserve Center in the Hanover Industrial Park in Northeastern Pennsylvania," said Congressman Kanjorski. "The project will replace the current, outdated facility with three buildings to further our military capabilities and assist troops abroad. With the new facilities, our local reserve units will have a new building solely for training and facilities that aim to match their hard work for the country. These are absolute necessities for the brave men and women who serve our nation." The funding will allow for the construction of a 150-member Army Reserve Center training building that will include administrative, educational, assembly, library, learning center, vault, weapons simulator, and physical fitness centers for the two Army Reserve units. It will also enable to creation of an Organizational Maintenance Shop, unheated storage building, and organizational parking. ### |
